Random Musings

I seem to do these posts better than any others. What does that say about the state of my mind?!?!

1. Had a fun weekend with my guys. Lots of togetherness and little bickering. I love when that happens. Having a husband who thinks like a child and an actual child can be trying at times. I find myself refereeing arguments about whose turn it is to play the PS3. I would imagine it's like that much of the time for you Mom's of more than one. I thought I would avoid situations like that by only having one child. Not so!

2. I have my new flooring "in" my house, but by in I mean still in 48 boxes stacked neatly (??) in the office. The ripping up of the carpet starts on Thursday and the floor starts going down on Saturday. We have until the 17th to get the wood down and the installers come to lay the new friese carpet. I am so excited to be getting rid of the old, yuck builder grade carpet. Thank you bosses for big, fat bonuses!

3. We are getting an unexpected vacation in the near future. Ron's best friend since high school called us this weekend to let us know that he's getting married. He wants Ron to be his best man and the wedding is going to be in New Mexico, either Santa Fe or Taos. Either is fine by me! Congratulations Clint & Joyce.

4. TAKS testing starts this week. For those of you not in Texas, this is the standardized testing that the public school children must take and pass at certain grade levels to move on to the next grade -- thank you NCLB. Cole has his first test this week, reading, and the poor guy is so nervous about it. He is a super smart boy and I know he's going to do fine. He has scored 100% on almost every practice test, but the teachers stress this test and put so much pressure on these little guys and it's just got him all in a tizzy because he's a worrier like his Mom. So if you are so inclined if you could keep a good thought or send up a little prayer for my little man on Wednesday it wouldn't be wasted. I think he is going to need it -- or a valium! :)

Oooo I have flooring envy. What are you getting? Good luck with the testing - I am sure he will do great - he looks pretty sharp :)

We got a real touch laminate, a dark oak color. We shopped for months for just the right one, you know how that goes. I just hope it looks as nice once we get it down as it does in the box! :)

Sounds nice! I would KILL to redo all of our flooring someday - but I think we are waiting until the kids move out :)
